Crisp’s newly elected Superior Court Judge Amy Bryant

CORDELE, Ga. – Staying with news in Crisp county, we have an update from CBS 44 reporter Rodney Washington, who spoke with Amy Bryant following her victory in Tuesday’s General Primary Election.

Bryant secured the majority vote for Superior Court Judge in the Cordele Judicial Circuit. Here’s what she had to say about her win.

“Now, did you actually you know, it’s just continuing to serve the people in our community. I want us to be able to focus as much attention as we can on the mental health population and seeing what kind of services we can get for those individuals. But, we just want to continue to serve and to be fair and to provide an efficient court system for the public,” said Amy Bryant, newly elected Superior Court Judge.

“Well, I just want everyone to feel like they can come into court and be treated fairly. No matter which side you’re on. I just want everybody to know that they’re going to be heard and they’re going to be valued and they’re going to be treated with fairness,” said Bryant.

“You know, the timing was hard in a way because my daughters are seniors. And, so, I’ve been working on this campaign during the last part of their senior year. So, that’s been difficult. But, they are both going to Athens in July to be college full time college students,” said Bryant.

“So I really am going to have the time to tell my husband and I will be empty nesters. So I really am going to have the time to put in to doing the best job I can possibly do,” said Bryant.

“I am so grateful. I mean, I had so much support in Wilcox county and Ben Hill county and Crisp county and Dooly county. I am very grateful, very humbled. I honestly just kept saying if I win by one vote, I win with there just being two candidates that wasn’t going to go to a runoff,” said Bryant.
