City Commissioner Jon Howard discovers yet another illegal dumping site

ALBANY, Ga. – Yet another illegal dump site has emerged in east Albany, leaving its city commissioner pondering what further actions can be taken.

Ward 1 Commissioner Jon Howard led us to the latest dump site, located in the 1200 block of Crawford Drive.

Howard discovered the dump site Wednesday morning while assisting with the removal of election signs.

In a message to us, Howard revealed that approximately 30 tires were dumped in this back alley, prompting him to question what further actions can be taken.

“You begin to wonder. And, the key in order for us to have this name ‘the Good Life City’ we got to continue to re-educate, re-educate, re-educate. If we cannot re-educate this generation and the next generation about the environment, it will get worse…It’s behind your house today, but it could be in your front yard in the coming day,” said Commissioner Jon Howard, Ward 1, City of Albany.

Howard advises that if you discover an illegal dump site near your property, you should call 311 to schedule a pickup.
