Dougherty Co. General Primary election results

ALBANY, Ga. – There are a few races that have already been called, including some of the ones we mentioned during last night’s broadcast.

The biggest one being that current Chief Deputy for the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office, Terron Hayes has won the race for the position as the next Dougherty County Sheriff.

Meanwhile, incumbent District Attorney, Greg Edwards will continue as DA here at the Dougherty County courthouse, securing nearly 70 percent of the vote Tuesday.

While the district five seat on the Dougherty County Commission was a close one, current commission, Gloria Gaines will still be on the commission, winning with a narrow 54 percent.

However, in the race to decide the Judge for the Superior Court in the Dougherty County Judicial Circuit, that race will be going to a runoff, as none of the candidates in Victoria Johnson, Valeria Brown-Williams or Michael Tabarrok were able to secure 51 percent of the vote.

We’re still getting results coming in, be sure to stay up to date with us for the latest results.
