Sen. Ossoff delivering federal resources to Crisp Regional Hospital to build modular health clinic in Warwick

WARWICK, Ga. – A major addition is coming to the Crisp Regional Health System, thanks to work from U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff. One that will see a major new addition in the community of Warwick.

Crisp Regional Health System President, Steven Gautney says that while they have had a clinic in Warwick for decades…

It’s far off the main road of Highway 300.

“It’s off the beaten path, if you will, where it’s been located all this time: in an old bank building. We feel like and I think the point of the grant is to move it over to Georgia 300, where it can be more visible, and much more accessible…” said Steven Gautney, President, Crisp Regional Health System.

This new, modular facility was announced by Senator Ossoff’s office Wednesday.

Gautney says that for those who are tens of miles away from medical centers in the likes of Albany and Cordele…

This new clinic is meant to close that accessibility gap.

“Having this clinic out there where it’s accessible; it should be easier for them to get to it. And, it should be easier for them to participate in their own care and take care of themselves, so that they’re not going to get sicker, and have to go to the hospital and endure a lesser quality of life,” said Gautney.

Gautney says that as Senator Ossoff was working to secure the new clinic for Crisp Regional, a big factor was the sustainability of the effort.

And, given that the current clinic Crisp Regional has in Warwick, they want to make sure that this new one is around for a few more decades.

“It’ll make it better, it’ll expand its usefulness over time. But, it is highly sustainable and that was so important that when I talked to the Senator, that we’re not just putting money out there. We’re putting money out there for something that’s going to be there and have value to the people for a long time in to the future,” said Gautney.

As Crisp Regional gets set over the course of the next year to make the new Warwick clinic a reality, it’s a big step towards making sure that people’s health shouldn’t be jeopardized by distance.

Gautney says the current timeline for the new clinic in Warwick will be roughly twelve to eighteen months.
