SYLVESTER, GA – The family of an Albany man who was shot last week during a traffic stop with a Worth County deputy wants answers surrounding the incident that’s left the suspect still hospitalized.

28 year old Antwain Wade was shot last Thursday morning near the intersection of County Line Road and Highway 82 in Sylvester.

Deputies say Wade ignored their initial attempts to conduct a traffic stop, and then drove toward the responding deputy during the confrontation that lead to the shooting.

According to Wade’s family, they have been unable to see him as he recovers in a local hospital, reportedly still in serious condition.

We’re awaiting to hear from Worth County’s Sheriff’s Department regarding the family’s concerns and hiring of legal counsel.
