35th annual Georgia Quail Hunt attracts global entrepreneurs

ALBANY, Ga. – Once again, a Georgia tradition returns to the Good Life City, bringing state leaders and entrepreneurs to southwest Georgia.

Thursday night marked the kickoff for the 35th annual Georgia Quail Hunt.

The goal of the annual hunt is for the Governor’s Office and State Economic Development Authority to meet with entrepreneurs from around the world.

While CBS 44 was not permitted to film the Quail Hunt, we had the opportunity to speak with Governor Brian Kemp and other state leaders about attracting business to Georgia and showcasing the potential in our region.

“We want a lot of these projects to come from the bottom up. You know, we want the locals to say, hey, we got a deal. We got a prospect. And then bring in state involvement. And sometimes we’re helping people find sites or either we’re working with the locals to create sites, which has been part of our formula for the last several years, which is while we’ve gotten big mega projects in rural Georgia, and we’re going to continue to do that,” said Gov. Brian Kemp.

“Programs like the Georgia Quail Hunt allow us to highlight the best of this community, right? The best of this region, to let them get to prospects, companies from all over the world, consultants from all over the world to get them in the state and actually in the community so they can learn about the incredible quality of life, the incredible resources that you have down here. And, we’re really here to make friends and just build relationships,” said Chris Clark, President & CEO, Georgia Chamber of Commerce.

The Quail Hunt will be a private event spanning over the next few days.
