Phoebe’s new President of Physicians, Dr. Redmon speaks about future plans
ALBANY, Ga. – The Phoebe Health System is welcoming a new president of their physician group. We got a chance to speak with her about her long term plans for the health system.
This is Dr. Estrellita Redmon, MD.
She’s served as a longtime physician across Florida and Alabama…
And, has now joined the ranks of the Phoebe Health System as its new President of Phoebe Physicians.
“Well, I was looking for a health system that was smaller, and more locally run, so I could have a better influence in the community. I’m also very interested in population health and preventive medicine. And really delivering care into the community,” Dr. Estrellita Redmon, MD.
Dr. Redmon started earlier in the week, and she has already started working with some of the physicians in the area to get an idea on where to start.
“I think it’s all about relationships. So, for instance, I’ve only been here for three days, I’ve already been out to some of the clinics, meeting the physicians, the providers and those who are in the offices, understanding and seeing what our community needs as well…” said Dr. Redmon, MD.
And, when we asked her about her long term plans in regards to the health system, Dr. Redmon laid out a few plans.
“One of the things we want to make sure we do is that we figure out how to deliver the care into the community so that we actually go to those who are in need. It’s not just about delivering care to patients who come to our hospitals and to our clinics, but actually going out, performing our education, preventive screenings, etc.” said Dr. Redmon, MD.
But, Dr. Redmon is ready to make an impact and improve aspects like access across the health system.
“I’m excited to be in the community. I want to do whatever I can to advance preventive health as well as to improve access to care. And, to make sure we fulfill the vision of Phoebe,” said Dr. Redmon, MD.
As Dr. Redmon begins her tenure at Phoebe, she’s looking to make sure that access to healthcare is less of a problem across southwest Georgia.
Dr. Redmon is taking over the position from Dr. Suresh Lakhanpal who retired after an 18 year career at Phoebe.
