First freeze of the season verified for northwest half of SWGA this Thursday morning 11/2/2023. Chilly but not as cold tonight. A Frost Advisory is in effect for Crisp, Dooly, Stewart, Sumter, & Webster counties until 10 am Friday 11/3/2023. Moderation in temperatures on the way! Above average back in the 80’s for next week! Don’t forget to “fall back” as Daylight Saving Time ends, Standard Time begins on 2 a.m. Sunday morning.
The dry streak continues. 20 days & counting without measurable rainfall. Last significant rainfall was on Oct. 12th at 1.05″ with a measly 0.04″ on Oct. 13th in Albany, GA KABY. Surplus for the year holds at just under 5″ at 4.53″. That dwindles away, as the days w/o rain go up.
Severe drought remains in Decatur & Seminole counties, but now includes part of Miller & Grady county. Moderate drought area has expanded eastward to include Colquitt & Worth counties with abnormally dry conditions along/east of I-75.
