Phoebe’s Mobile Wellness Clinics helping to bridge healthcare gaps
ALBANY, Ga. – Phoebe’s Mobile Health Clinics stand as a beacon of hope, providing vital medical services for communities across south Georgia.
Phoebe healthcare is dismantling barriers by strategically deploying two custom built Mobile Wellness Clinics.
These mobile units are dedicated to enhancing the healthcare of underserved populations in medically disadvantaged regions across southwest Georgia, fulfilling the mission of transforming lives, one check up at a time.
“Our senior administration and our board has a big mission of us having access to care in several areas. We are currently serving about 42 counties, which all falls within our primary, secondary, and tertiary service areas. So far, we have served, I want to say, around 15 counties; and we are steady increasing those counties on a day to day basis,” said Martavius Marcus, Phoebe Director of Operations.
Martavius Marcus, the Director of Operations at Phoebe, provides an in-depth insight into the services rendered by the Mobile Health Clinic and their distinctive features that set them apart from conventional healthcare settings.
“Right now, we are currently doing a lot of primary care off of the Mobile Wellness Units, a lot of care for children. Soon, we are also offering some of our specialty services off of the mobile wellness clinic. And one of the things that makes it different is, we’re taking the care to wherever our community needs it. For those areas, once again, that are underpopulated with health care. We are meeting people where they are with the services,” said Marcus.
Sustaining these Mobile Wellness Clinics to ensure the delivery of essential medical assistance requires a dedicated and industrious team effort.
“I will say, we have had an excellent relationship with a lot of our community partners; Action RV, Freightliner, those companies do a great job with helping us maintain these trucks and keeping them on the road, so that we can continue to provide access of care to those communities,” said Marcus.
