Fallen Moultrie firefighter laid to rest

MOULTRIE, Ga. – The City is mourning the loss of one of Moultrie’s bravest. Captain William “Bill” E. Johnson was laid to rest Thursday. Johnson was with the Moultrie Fire Department for over 42 years.

The City called him “a friend to all.” During the service Tift County Fire Rescue, Thomas County Fire, and Thomasville Fire Rescue sent personnel to staff local stations so that MFD members could attend Captain Johnson’s funeral.
