CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: August 31, 2023
While Idalia moves away from the eastern U.S. seaboard, a remnant trough of low pressure along the northern Gulf Coast keeps moisture surged into SWGA through Friday. Scattered thunderstorms, some locally heavy producing 1″-3″ of rainfall, will be likely tomorrow morning throughout the afternoon gradually coming to an end by Friday night. There still could be some showers or thunderstorms around for Friday night football. Mostly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures for the start of the Labor Day holiday weekend. Temperatures return closer to seasonal averages, but it turns hotter by the end of next week.
