Local arborist discusses impact of Spring storms
(ALBANY, GA) – With severe weather heading towards our area Thursday, we sat down with one local arborist about the impact of these large scale, Mid-March storms.
“I understand that they’re scared of them. There was so many on buildings, cars, and power lines. Two major storms like that in a two year period, that has people shaken up.”
That’s what D&D Tree Service Owner, and Arborist, David Edwards says has been the general response to major storms following Hurricane Michael in 2018.
Since then, any time a large-scale thunderstorm threatens our area, they go into action, preventing trees from toppling over and ruining lives.
Edwards tells us, “Ever since Hurricane Michael, people are truly scared of the trees. And even since then, it’s been doubling the work that we’re normally under”
Even though the storm is well on its way, Edwards says for the next one, there are things you can and should do to prevent your trees from uprooting.
“You should have an arborist go by and do a tree-risk assessment for you, and remove any potential hazards like limbs that could break or tear your roof off…,” says Edwrads
As our area braces for thunderstorms through Thursday, it’s important to keep an eye on the skies, and your trees.
