CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: August 22, 2023
Heat advisory in effect 10am-8pm Wednesday. Heat index 105°-108° possible! Practice heat safety! Stay hydrated! A brief reprieve in the heat on Thursday as a back door front moves in from the northeast and weakens. That ushers in slightly cooler, less humid air. Hottest of the year this weekend. We will likely surpass Albany’s hottest temperature so far of 99° (August 14th & 22nd).
Cooler & better rain chances early next week.
The tropics are not quite as active, but Franklin and a few other systems remain across the Atlantic. None are a threat to SWGA. For latest updates on tropics visit NHC website at hurricanes.gov
