CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: August 8, 2023

More heat & storms for midweek.

An active Tuesday evening with widespread power outages & many severe thunderstorm watches and warnings in effect. At least the storms helped to knock down the heat after another hot day. More heat & storms for Wednesday. Heat index “feels-like” readings not quite as oppressive as the past few days, but still at dangerous levels between 105-107. There is also another chance for strong to severe thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and evening. Damaging winds, flash flooding, and frequent lightning will be the main threats. Drier air reduces rain chances on Thursday before becoming likely again for Friday through the first half of the weekend.
