Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 am-8 pm Friday!

A Heat Advisory is in effect for all of Southwest Georgia on Friday from 11 am to 8 pm. Temperatures in the upper 90s. Heat index “feels-like” could approach 111+ Fri. PM. Practice heat safety, stay hydrated, stay cool in the A/C if you can, and make sure to look before you lock by checking the backseat!

There is a Slight Risk of strong-severe t’storms Friday afternoon-evening for the northeastern half of the area & a Marginal Risk elsewhere. Major threats: Gusty to damaging wind gusts, small hail, heavy downpours and frequent lightning.

Don still a Tropical Storm and continues to spin over the northern Atlantic and will remain a “fish storm” out-to-sea, but is expected to weaken in a few days.

A tropical wave over the eastern Atlantic has a low chance of development as it moves west towards the Main Development Region, but into a hostile environment with dry air which will keep any further development slow the next few days.
