Breitbart’s White House correspondent expected to join White House

Breitbart’s former White House correspondent is expected to join the Trump administration, people familiar with the matter told CNN.

Michelle Moons, the correspondent, is slated to take a job in the office of the National Economic Council, which is run by Trump’s chief economic adviser Larry Kudlow.

She previously worked at Breitbart for more than five years before accepting the new job.

The White House and Moons did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Breitbart employees were notified of the hire on Monday morning.

“She’s been an integral part of our DC team and we are very proud of her,” read a message sent to the employees from Jon Kahn, Breitbart’s chief operating officer.

Kahn instructed employees to “NOT comment about this publicly or on social media.” He did suggest, however, that they “reach out to her directly to offer congratulations.”

Breitbart was formerly headed by Steve Bannon, who served at the beginning of the Trump administration as the White House chief strategist.

Julia Hahn, another former Breitbart employee, also works in the administration. Hahn is a special assistant to the president and director of surrogate and coalition communications and has worked since there since early 2017.
