‘Drugs: Costs & Consequences’ DEA traveling exhibit on display at Thronateeska

The exhibit will only be available until September 6, Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

ALBANY, Ga. – The Drug Enforcement Administration traveling exhibit share the consequences of drug use.

The DEA ‘Drugs: Costs & Consequences’ traveling exhibit can now be seen at the Thronateeska Heritage Center. The exhibit includes artifacts, real life examples, and interactive stations that provide a powerful outlook on one of the biggest issues facing America today.

Director of Education for the Artesian Alliance, Jackie Entz, talks about catering to all age groups in the exhibit.

“Our educators are highly trained. They received training from DEA educators and so they are easily able to switch gears. So, if we had a group of 2, 3, 4, and 5 year olds, the conversation with them is going to much different than a conversation that we might have with an 8-or 9-year-old, and even with a high school group,” said Jackie Entz, Director of Education for Artesian Alliance.

That way, we can make sure we represent the information at any age level.

Entz also speaks on the funding for those who want to visit the exhibit.

“It’s absolutely free to come through and do a guided tour because we have grant funding to pay for transportation. This isn’t limited to school groups. So, if you have a youth or a church group, or a summer camp that would like to come and visit the exhibit, I have grant funding and the ability to pay for your transportation,” she said.

The exhibit will only be available until September 6, Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“It only travels once a semester. This exhibit will probably never be back in Georgia for the next 5 to 7 years. So it is, I would like to say once in a lifetime opportunity for our community and for our area,” she said.
