Flood watch thru Friday
Wet start to the summer season on this Wednesday. Albany has had 2.91″ of rainfall since midnight with over 3″ the past 24 hours. More rounds of heavy rainfall on Thursday. A flood watch remains in effect thru Friday evening. 1″-3″ of additional rainfall with locally 3″-5″ still possible. Flash flooding is a possibility with a slight rise on area rivers. Rain chances decrease this weekend. Temperatures will rise closer to average near 90 degrees. Pop-up variety of showers and thunderstorms returns next week. Tropical Storm Bret has strengthened some in the central Atlantic as it approaches the Lesser Antilles, but it is still forecast to weaken as it moves across the Caribbean Sea this weekend.
