(ALBANY, GA) – In response to a challenged vote during a special Board of Elections meeting Monday, Dougherty County’s GOP Chairman is calling for more transparency in the runoff election.

Chairman, Tracy Taylor spoke with us about the need for transparency in regards to the change of address database, focused on 3,000 votes in the county.

He says that in a part of the state so evenly split, that he’d like to see some clarity in voter turnout.

Taylor tells us, “We want to bestow the trust in our citizens and ensure them that every vote counts. And when they go to the polls, I want my citizens, my residents to feel confident when casting their ballot and that it will be counted.”

The challenge to the 3,000 votes was voted down 3-1 at Monday’s meeting.
