CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: June 13, 2023

Severe storms likely Wednesday!

Severe storms likely Wednesday! Several reports of trees down, measured wind gusts as high as 60 to 70 mph, and even structural damage from lightning strikes today. Tomorrow, the threat of severe weather is even higher. There is an Enhanced Risk – level 3/5 with a chance of multiple rounds of storms capable of producing damaging to destructive winds (60-70mph), very large hail (golf ball size+), & even an isolated tornado. It appears the first round will be from late morning into the early afternoon with a second round by Wednesday evening lasting possibly into Thursday morning. It’s hard to nail down the timing, so pay close attention to the forecast and plan accordingly. Much-needed rainfall is likely, however an additional 3″-5″ could result in flash flooding and perhaps river flooding later on. Rain chances drop ever so slightly heading into Father’s day weekend and for Juneteenth holiday.
