CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: May 11, 2023
Better rain chances Friday
Not as hot today but still seasonably warm because of increased cloud cover for most of the day. This hindered heating to prevent any storms from becoming widespread. A better chance of showers and thunderstorms Friday as we should see enough heating early in the day to allow a good coverage of storms during the afternoon and evening. Locally torrential downpours that could lead to flash flooding and a pulse strong to severe storm with gusty to damaging winds and hail cannot be ruled out. Lower rain chances to more isolated variety on Saturday. Mother’s Day most of the day should be fine but hot for mom out there in the low-90’s. By the late afternoon and evening rain becomes widely scattered focused by possibly another backdoor frontal boundary or upper disturbance. Typical summer-like pattern returns for much of next week with the best rain chances by the middle portion of it.
