Local business owners forming Thanksgiving partnership
(ALBANY, GA) – For a business owner like Gwendolyne Stock, the next couple of weeks are going to be a big deal for her bakery that opened this past Summer, and they’re going to be one of a couple businesses seeing a spike before Thanksgiving.
Sick tells us, “The’s been sending people to us all the time. I think she felt that was the best partnership that she could have for Thanksgiving and for this city.”
The she in question: Albany Ward 3 Commissioner, and local restaurant owner,B.J Fletcher.
She’s partnering with a couple newly opened businesses ahead of Thanksgiving, and to help make a day feel a little more special, given the circumstances.
Commissioner Fletcher tells us, “I think it’s huge that they are going to be able to enjoy their meals. They won’t have to spend time in the kitchen, they can spend that time catching up because so many of them haven’t seen their families in nine months.”
Over the next two weeks, Fletcher’ restaurant, B.J’s Country Kitchen will partner with Stock’s 7 Cherries Bakery, and the newly opened Cork N Bottle are partnering to deliver food, desserts, and alcohol to homes in time for Thanksgiving.
Commissioner Fletcher says that so far the community has been very receptive to the idea.
So much so to the point where she could continue the partnership with these two fledgling businesses for more of the upcoming holiday season.
“This is not just thanksgiving. This is Christmas, New Years Day, Valentines Day. This is MLK day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day. If it works out, we’re gonna roll it out to where it’s going to be as easy as we can for the people who enjoy the holidays,” says Fletcher.
