What to expect at Sunday’s BET Awards

The 2019 BET Awards will celebrate the very best in entertainment, culture and sports on Sunday.

Regina Hall is set to host the 19th annual awards show, which will air live on BET from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Some highlights to look out for: The late Nipsey Hussle will posthumously be honored with a humanitarian award and special tribute performance by John Legend, DJ Khaled and YG.

Mary J. Blige will receive a lifetime achievement award, and filmmaker Tyler Perry will be recognized with the Ultimate Icon Award.

Lizzo, Migos, H.E.R., Lil Nas X, Billy Ray Cyrus, Mustard, Lil Baby, City Girls’ Yung Miami, Lucky Daye, and Kiana Ledé, will all perform.

Presenters include Taraji P. Henson, Lena Waithe, Morris Chestnut, Yara Shahidi, and Marsai Martin.

Leading the nominations this year is Cardi B, with a total of seven, including best female hip-hop artist, album of the year, viewers’ choice award, best collaboration and video of the year.

Drake has five nominations, including best male hip-hop artist, video of the year, best collaboration and the viewers’ choice award.

Other nominees include Beyoncé, Travis Scott and J. Cole, who received four nominations each. Bruno Mars, 21 Savage, Childish Gambino, H.E.R. and Ella Mai, received three nominations each.
