By participating in #BeTheGiftGeorgia this holiday season, all Georgians have the potential to be the gift that no one exchanges. This is Georgia’s LifeLink campaign launched today to increase registration for organ, eye and tissue donations statewide.

It’s fast, it’s fun, it’s free! Lifelink in Georgia invites all Georgians to join by taking time to register online as an organ, eye and tissue donor at BeTheGiftGeorgia.com . Then use the site’s Big Red Bow filter to show your friends and family that you are The Gift on social media.

LifeLink of Georgia, a non-profit Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) that enables life-saving organ and tissue donations in Georgia, launched #BeTheGiftGeorgia to end statewide and national transplant waiting lists. More than 100,000 Americans are on waiting lists for organ transplants, including more than 3,400 Georgians. Twenty people die waiting every day. It’s a serious situation, but anyone can help by subscribing to #BeTheGift.

Her Katie Payne, Executive Her Director of LifeLink of Georgia, said: “Today, more than 90% of Americans support organ and tissue donation, but only 54% are registered.
