23 year old dies in early morning crash
The fatal crash happened before 7 a.m. in Wilcox County.
Wilcox County, Ga. – Wednesday morning, a fatal crash took the life of a young man.
The Wilcox County Coroner, Janice Brown, told CBS 44 News a two-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 112, just before 7 a.m.
Brown says the 23-year-old victim was on his way to work when his pickup truck and a food distribution truck collided. The victim was pulled from the pickup shortly before it caught fire, but unfortunately was killed on impact.
Coroner Brown says the other driver was transported to the nearest hospital to be treated for injuries, but was coherent, walking and talking on scene.
Brown could not release names at this time, but says the victim was sent to the crime lab for further investigation.
Georgia State Patrol has taken over the investigation, which is active and ongoing.
