South Georgia Celebrates Child Passenger Safety Week

SOUTH GEORGIA – You carry precious cargo every day. Take a few minutes to make sure your child’s car seat is installed correctly and fits properly. Register for an upcoming car seat inspection event and leave with confidence, answers, and peace of mind.

First, in Adel on Friday, the Community Car Seat Check is a great opportunity to make sure your child is riding in the correct car seat and that the seat is installed properly! Please be prepared to stay for a little while. This is a hands-on event designed to involve parents and caregivers in the process so they will leave feeling confident about their child’s car seat.

If the child or children will not be present, we encourage attendees to know their height and weight. If the children will be present, don’t worry! There will be a scale available, as well as a height chart to help determine the best fit.

Members of the community will be in attendance to provide helpful information and resources as well. Joining the Adel Police Department will be the Cook County Health Department, Adel Fire Department, and Cook County Family Connection. Each organization will be there to share education, resources, and information with the community. This event is FREE, and takes place Friday, September 25th, from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the Adel Police Department parking lot, 204 E Third Street in Adel.

Then, in Valdosta on Saturday, join SGMC Health for free car seat inspections and an exclusive look inside some of their emergency vehicles. Stop by for a free car seat check provided by certified technicians, then let the kids climb aboard and explore a real fire engine and ambulance.
