Pedestrian struck on I-75
CORDELE, Ga. — A pedestrian was struck on I-75 after exiting his vehicle following a collision at around 9:30 Thursday
The man, identified as 35-year old Howard Sterling of Union City, was traveling north in a Honda Accord when he rear-ended a dump truck. He then exited his vehicle and was subsequently struck in the head by the side mirror of a Ford F-150 from Florida. Both the Honda and dump truck were in the path of traffic and no first responders were on the scene at the time.
Sterling was transported by EMS to Crisp Regional Hospital and once stabilized was transported by AirEvac to Navicent Hospital in Macon. He was listed in critical condition. The drivers of the Ford F-150 nor the dump truck have been charged with the accident.
