Murder suspect apprehended

CORDELE, Ga. — Michael Anthony Savage, 26-year-old male, a resident of Crisp County, Georgia was placed under arrested on June 11, 2019, at approximately 10:50 a.m. Savage was taken into custody at 9020 HWY 215 Dooly County, Georgia without incident. Savage faces charges of Murder, Possession of Firearm or Knife during Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Aggravated Assault.

Sunday, June 9, 2019, Crisp County 911 dispatched Deputies to the 2200 Block of Roosevelt Avenue after receiving calls of a shooting in the area. Crisp County EMS transported Kenneth Armstrong 35-year-old male, a resident of Crisp County to Crisp Regional Hospital. Armstrong succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

Crisp County Sheriff’s Office worked alongside the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Department ofCommunity Supervision, U.S. Marshal Middle Georgia Fugitive Task Force, and Dooly County Sheriff’sOffice.
