Young Entrepreneurs Spread Their Roots in Adel

ADEL, Ga. – The city of Adel is sowing the seeds of entrepreneurship and they’ll be taking root downtown this Saturday. The Little Sprouts Farmers Market is a place where start-up culture blooms, and that will be on display when youngsters from kindergarten through college display their wares for the community.

“Children are the future of our city, and we want to start them off young and teach them the basics of business,” said City of Adel Community Engagement Director Brandie Dame. “We show them how to create pop-up markets, and hopefully when they grow up they’ll  start their own businesses here and help us grow our city.”

There will be everything from hand made crafts and jewelry to baked goods at the market, and all the live entertainment will be provided by young singers and dancers as well. The intent is to create a a fun supportive environment where kids turn big ideas into reality.

The market is designed to help children build confidence, learn to start a business from the ground up, and connect with their neighbors. “At Christmas time, we’ll be having our ‘Elf Emporium: Santa’s Little Entrepreneurs,'” said Ms. Dame. “Everyone should be sure to come out for that one as well.”

The market takes place from 9:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. this Saturday behind Renasant Bank, and the city is inviting everyone from the surrounding area to attend. To find out more about the Little Sprouts Farmers Market, email bdame@cityofadelga.gov or call 229-398-8377.
