Marine starts American Unity Movement
(ALBANY, Ga)- A Marine is taking his van and trying to spread a message across the country.
The movement, called Erase Race, is an American Unity Movement being started by Marine, Carlen Charleston.
After spending more than 12 years as a high school teacher, Charleston is trying to address race relations in the United States.
When asked about his motivation, Charleston tells us, “”I came back here from Japan back to Albany, Georgiaand there was a lot of division and I realized ‘so this is just hate that happens.’ It’s not based on skin color, it’s just hate. So we gotta get rid of that myth of race so we can see that hate is just hate.”
According to Charleston, the movement will visit more than 100 cities in 2020.
