Marietta Concedes 4th Ward Race
(ALBANY, Ga)- After losing by only 20 votes Tuesday night, Roger Marietta has conceded the race for the Ward 4 Seat for the Albany City Commission.
Marietta had a total of 1,454 votes, compared to Chad Warbington, who had 1,474 votes.
The less than one percent margin would have triggered a recount.
In a statement released on his Facebook earlier today, Marietta says, “…Although the results won’t be official until Friday, I accept the results today. My opponent ran a strong campaign and my supporters also worked hard for my reelection. I am honored to have served 12 years and feel that we accomplished a great deal. I have 2 months left in office to continue working for my constituents. I look forward to having more time to do the things I enjoy. Thanks to all my constituents for their support and work to improve our City. We all need to continue working together to clean up and improve our City.”
The Dougherty County Board of Elections says that the votes will be official on Friday, November 8th.
