Hairspray: The Broadway Musical Takes Center Stage in Tifton

TIFTON, Ga. – Big hair lovers have a treat in store the next 2 weekends at Tift Theatre for Performing Arts. Tony award-winning Hairspray: The Broadway Musical takes the stage at the venue starting this Friday night.

Set in 1962 Baltimore, the family friendly musical follows teenager Tracy Turnblad as she goes from social outcast to tv star on the Corny Collins show.

Using her new-found fame to campaign for integration on the show. Hairspray is known for its 1960s-style music, humor, and themes of body positivity, diversity, and social change.

Tift Theatre’s version of the show is directed by Richell Hart, musically directed by Kezia Larry (Tift Theatre Manager), and is choreographed by Elli McMillan and Timothy Goins.

Hairspray runs Friday and Saturday nights with Sunday matinees over the next 2 weekends.

Admission is $10 for each night, and tickets are available at purplepass.com. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the door.
