Food for Thought at the Cordele-Crisp Carnegie Library

CORDELE, Ga. – Kids participating in the Cordele-Crisp Carnegie Library Summer Reading Program this year will get some extra food for thought – free summer meals for children and teens!

The library is partnering with Second Harvest of South Georgia to provide 7-day meal boxes for children and teens under the age of 18 this summer. Pre-registration day is May 27th from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. during its summer reading program kick-off event.

Meal box pick-ups will be Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. starting June 3rd and lasting through July 27th. Fresh fruit and veggies will also be included on a first come first served basis. Parents do not have to be present for meal pick-ups, but children picking up meals will need to show the tag given at pre-registration.

Registration is required, so visit the Cordele-Crisp Carnegie Library on May 27th and help feed strong bodies and minds all summer. For more information about the summer reading program and meal box pickups, contact Adrain Slocum at 229-276-1300 or email aslocum@lbrls.org.
