Early tropical activity sighted…
Though the Atlantic Hurricane season does not usually begin until June 1st, some tropical activity has already been sighted in the Atlantic.
A trough of low pressure that extends from South Florida northeastward over the western Atlantic is producing disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity.
The National Hurricane Center says that Environmental conditions are not expected to be conducive for significant development of this system.
This system will not bring much in regards to weather for South Georgia, but regardless of development, locally heavy rains are possible over portions of the Bahamas and the Florida peninsula over the next few days.
