Dougherty County comes together for 5th annual Ties That Bind

(ALBANY, Ga)- With Fathers Day coming up this weekend, Dougherty County leaders teamed up with Phoebe Medical to host the 5th annual “Ties That Bind” event.

The event brings 50 boys together with 50 men from across the county.

The main part of the event was the younger men learning how to tie a tie. But they also got some important pointers on other things, as well.

Vice President for Institutional Advancement Executive Director at Albany State Universit, A.L. Flemming tells us, “It’s an outstanding opportunity to teach them a little bit about character. Show them the depth of tying a tie, whether it’s a bowtie or a necktie. And it’s an opportunity to bond with the young men in our community, and the men of our community as we make a difference.”

The “Ties That Bind” event is part of Phoebe Medical’s Network of Trust Program, giving back to the children of the community.
