DCSS rewarding teachers with innovation grants

(ALBANY, Ga)- The Dougherty County School System giving out thousands of dollars to teachers across the system.

This is part of the 3rd Annual Charter System Innovative Grant Awards.

Teachers from all levels in Dougherty County were rewarded with grant money to help fund efforts such as S.T.E.M programs for some of the schools.

Superintendent Kenneth Dyer explained how important these funds are for the future of the school system.

“We really appreciate the effort, we appreciate you being here. And we look forward to seeing you back here next year. But more importantly, we loo forward to visiting the schools and seeing these practices in motion. And we look forward to seeing the results,” said Dyer to the crowd of educators.

Superintendent Dyer says the Dougherty County School System gave out more than $470,000 in grants Tuesday afternoon.
