COVID-19 continues to spread throughout local athletic programs, Lee County football the latest victim
According to Lee County Athletic Director Hank Wright, the football program became aware of some positive tests earlier today.
“We had two players test positive over the weekend. Practice was scheduled for this afternoon and tomorrow morning. After much conversation and while awaiting guidance from the Department of Health, the decision was made to shut down. We are hopeful to resume Wednesday,” Wright said.
The two athletes that tested positive are out for a minimum of 10 days, but some health officials recommend quarantining for a full two weeks. As of right now, Lee County has not made a decision on when said players will be able to return.
