Canning and Home Food Preservation Classes in Tifton

TIFTON, Ga. – If you’ve ever been interested in home food preservation, or canning as it’s commonly called, we’ve got the answer for you. Conger LP Gas and University of Georgia Extension in Tifton are teaming up to teach you everything you need to know.

The first class is Thursday, June 11, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., and it’s all about how to make blueberry jam. Subsequent classes will be about learning to make pickle relish, pressure canning green beans, and how to make salsa.

Home Food Preservation is presented by Georgeanne Cook, Family & Consumer Sciences Agent at UGA Extension Tift County. The classes are only $30 apiece, including supplies, and the best part is that students get to take home what they make!

All classes take place at the Conger LP Gas Demonstration Kitchen, 146 Ridge Avenue in Tifton, and the class size is limited to 18 people. Anyone interested in attending should reserve their spot at freshtix.com.
