Bainbridge officer behind bars; out of job
Family violence charges land police officer in jail, off the force
BAINBRIDGE, GA- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says today they’ve arrested and charged a Bainbridge Police Officer, who promptly resigned from the force after being taken into custody at the Decatur County jail.
Agents say 22 year old Brandon Register of Bainbridge faces counts of simple battery family violence and criminal trespass family violence.
The GBI says the arrest stems from a Sunday call for assistance from the Bainbridge Department of Public Safety, involving an off-duty incident involving Register.
Agents say Register resigned from the department upon his arrest and their investigation remains active.
