AMERICUS, GA –  Americus Police say they’re looking for the triggerman in the city’s latest fatal shooting and have a prime suspect in mind.

Americus Police Chief Mark Scott says his officers are on the lookout for 37 year old Allan Tremain Barthell of Americus.

Bartell is wanted in connection to Thursday night’s fatal shooting of 30 year old Brandon Marquis Burney.

Burney was found suffering gunshot wounds a little after 7pm Thursday in the 600 block of Winn Street.

The victim was taken to Phoebe Sumter where he later died from his injuries.

Police say Barthell was spotted leaving the scene in a silver 2007 Lexus RX with Georgia license tag TAF 8187.

Chief Scott says Barthell should be considered armed and dangerous.
