Alleged tip jar thief nabbed by APD
Albany Police arrest a former employee of burglarized N. Slappey business
ALBANY, GA – An ex-employee is arrested and charged with breaking into his former workplace to steal the company’s tip jar.
57 year old John Scotty Brown was arrested on a single count of 2nd degree burglary in connection to the theft at the Final Touch Detail Center.
The business owner says he believes Brown, who he fired earlier for alleged pilfering, returned with a key to the business for entry on February 23rd.
Police say they reviewed surveillance tape from the store’s security system before arrested Brown, who they found nearby at a convenience store.
Detectives estimate the entirety of the tip jar contained $100 dollars.
Brown was still being held in the Dougherty County Jail at last report.
