GISA mirrors GHSA, pushes football season back two weeks

On Tuesday afternoon, GISA mirrored GHSA’s Monday decision, and pushed back its football season two weeks. This will relieve many scheduling headaches, as multiple GHSA schools have early-season battles against GISA teams on the books.
Mandatory practice will begin on August 3rd, and the first day of pads is slated for August 17th. Due to final exam conflicts in mid-December, the playoffs have been reduced to just three rounds, meaning the top eight teams will make the postseason.
The first week of practice and games for all other fall sports will remain the same. Playoffs and/or finals for basketball, wrestling, track, golf, weightlifting, tennis, soccer, and baseball have all been pushed back one week later.
