Disabled victim identified in deadly boarding home fire
Coroner releases the name and cause of death of person found in deadly house fire
ALBANY, GA– Following Friday’s fatal fire on Tift Avenue, Dougherty County Coroner, Michael Fowler released the name of the fallen victim.
Fowler told South Georgia Television News reporter, Mary Alex Anders the victim is 38 year-old Chatayunda Davis. The autopsy revealed she died from smoke and soot inhalation while she was trapped inside the burning building.
Davis was disabled, living with only one leg, which could have prevented her from fleeing the blaze. She is the only death from this incident as of right now.
Information has not been released as far as what caused the massive fire. More updates to come when they are received.
