APD: motorist charged with DUI after hitting police cruiser
Officer's vehicle hit from behind Monday night on Liberty Expressway; driver faces multiple charges

ALBANY, GA – Albany Police say one of their officers is ok after a suspected drunk driver struck a police cruiser in the midst of a traffic stop.
APD’s Crisis Communications Manager Sylah Ferguson says Officer N. Kellam responded to an auto accident on Liberty Expressway a little before 10pm Monday.
Ferguson says the officer parked the patrol vehicle in the left lane with blue lights activated.
While Kellam was outside the patrol vehicle, another vehicle struck the back of the patrol car causing disabling damage.
The driver, Veto Rhyme, 49 was charged with DUI along with several other traffic violations.
This incident was forwarded to Georgia State Patrol.
Dougherty County jailers tell South Georgia Television News that Rhyme has yet to be processed into the facility and are unable to provide a mugshot of the accused.
