Operation Clean Sweep poised to tidy up the Good Life City
Operation Clean Sweep Continues Into Ward 4

ALBANY, GA – Operation Clean Sweep has moved into Ward 2. Commissioner Jalen Johnson and the crews would like to invite the media to join them at Zone 2 on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 1 p.m.

Commissioner Johnson and Operation Clean Sweep crews will be at the CW Heath Park on the Maple Street side.

Every week the City of Albany gets crews from multiple departments and contractors together to clean up litter, debris, trim brush, mow grass and more in different areas of each City Ward.

So far, in Ward 2, crews have cleaned up Blaylock Street from Ballpark Lane to Maple Street and Cromartie Beach Drive from Beachview Drive to the dead end.

Below is a list of the rest of the Ward 2 zones and the dates crews will be in those locations.

  • Zone 2: April 14, 2022

    Where: Blaylock Street from 4th Avenue to Clark Avenue, 4th Avenue from Blaylock Street to Maple Street, Maple Street from Cromartie Beach Drive to Clark Avenue and Clark Avenue from Blaylock Street to Maple Street.

  • Zone 3: April 21, 2022                                                                                                                                            Where: W. 3rd Avenue from N. Slappey Boulevard to N. Madison Street, N. Madison Street from W. 3rd Avenue to W. Tift Avenue, N. Slappey Boulevard from W. 3rd Avenue to W. Society Avenue and W. Society Avenue and Tift Avenue from N. Slappey Boulevard to N. Madison Street.

      • Zone 4: April 28, 2022

Where: E. Broad Avenue from N. Broadway Street to Hobson Street, Hobson Street from E. Broad Avenue   to Clark Avenue, Clark Avenue from N. Broadway Street to Hobson Street, N. Broadway Street from E. Broad Avenue to Clark Avenue and Don Cutler Sr. Drive from Clark Avenue to the Railroad Tracks.
