Albany mom on road to recovery; community coming together to support family
Zetambrica West was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on U-S 19 March 17th

ALBANY, Ga. – Over the weekend the Albany Seahawks Football and Cheer squads held a carwash to raise funds for the family of Zetambrica West.
“It’s a joyous occasion. I’m overwhelmed. I didn’t know she knew this many people and how much she impacted everyone’s life.” said Shalethia Best, Zetambrica’s sister.
Many stopped by to get their car washed, and to donate to the West family on their road to recovery. This car wash was organized by the Seahawk Organization, a pre-teen recreational football program. Seahawk Whitney Webb say West has been an integral part of the program for the last 4 years.
“She has served as a team mom. They put in a lot of effort when we get ready to travel out of town by supporting not only just her children by the entire age group that she supports as a team mother.” said Webb
Webb reflects on the Seahawks’ last fundraiser, to help the team get to nationals with West lending her helping hands.
“…and now to know that it’s being reciprocated, that we can now support her in such tragedy in her life; and I know that the support is gonna always be there and the community for her. I appreciate it on the Seahawk side when we were on the road to nationals and now to support her with what she’s going through.” said Webb.
Shalethia says right now, her sister’s condition is stable and that they’re counting on their faith to help them through.
“We just have to continue to keep praying. Her kids are doing fine. They are back home. I’m helping my mom with them. Right now everything is still looking good, she just have to keep fighting.” said Webb.
A GoFundMe has been setup for the family as they continue to recover from the accident. If you would like to donate, you can do so by clicking here.
