Tifton teens charged with murder

TIFTON, GA – A pair of 17 year olds have been arrested and charged in last weekend’s murder of 38 year old Jorge Rodriguez.

Rodriguez was found suffering multiple gunshot wounds in his Ira Drive home a week ago Saturday, he later died at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Friday, 17 year old Juan Diego Rodriquez and 17 year old Noe Sandoval Jr., were taken into custody by GBI Sylvester Field Office Agents, U.S. Marshal’s South East Regional Fugitive Task Force and Tifton Police.

Detectives have charged both suspects with felony murder and aggravated assault, in connection with the death investigation.

Police say on Saturday, February 05, at approximately 12:40 am, Tifton Police responded to an Ira Drive address in reference to a gunshot victim.

Upon arrival, officers found a male with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. He later succumbed to his injuries. The male was identified as Jorge Rodriguez (38) of Ira Drive Tifton, Georgia.

Tifton Police Department requested the assistance of the GBI Sylvester Field Office to assist with the death investigation. The investigation is ongoing, and no other details will be released at this time.
