Colquitt father & son accused of murdering in law
Victim now identified in Tuesday morning's fatal shooting

MOULTRIE, GA – The GBI says a Colquitt County father and son have been arrested and charged with murdering a neighbor and in-law relative.
GBI Special Agent Jamy Steinberg identifies the two suspects as 33 year old Thomas Montgomery Weeks and his father, 62 year old Jeffery Lynn Weeks.
Both are being held in the Colquitt County Jail on charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, possessing of a firearm during the commission of a crime, burglary and home invasion.
The charges stem from the shooting death of 35 year old John Arbery Taylor.
Taylor, who is described as the son in law and brother in law of the two accused suspects, was found deceased as deputies arrived to the 2000 block of Ellenton Norman Park Road, just after midnight Tuesday morning.
Agent Steinberg says both the suspects and victim lived in separate residences on the same property.
Investigators believe a dispute earlier in the day preceded the midnight confrontation and shooting.
The case is active and ongoing.
Anyone with information on either case is asked and encouraged to call the GBI at 229-225-4090 or Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office at 229-616-7460.
