Charges pending in Colquitt murder

GBI agents say two suspects in custody after fatal midnight shooting

NORMAN PARK, GA – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation say one man is dead and two others, who remain unidentified for now, are in the custody of Colquitt County deputies as criminal charges for both are considered.

Agents say they got the call from Colquitt County deputies just after midnight regarding a homicide investigation in Norman Park.

Colquitt County deputies say once they arrived at the scene in the 200 block of Ellenton Norman Park Road, they found one man suffering a non-life threatening gun shot wound, and another dead from suspected gunfire.

Authorities believe some sort of dispute earlier in the day preceded the shooting.

Investigators say the victim and two suspects all knew one another.

Two male suspects are currently in custody at the Colquitt County Jail. 

Agents say the names of both arrestees will be released later after formal charges are filed and warrants are secured. 

The victim, who has yet to be identified as well, his remains will be sent to the GBI Crime Lab in Decatur where an autopsy will be completed.
