Train derailment in Douglas

Traffic hobbled around accident site

DOUGLAS, GA – The Douglas Police Department is alerting the community of road closures in light of a train derailment earlier today.

According to the department’s Facebook page, the area in question is McDonald Road and Fales Avenue.

Emergency personnel and crews are on the scene.

Police ask motorists to stay away from the scene and to expect delays.

Police say both Madison Avenue and Peterson Avenue are blocked at this time.

No word on any injuries as of now.
